CDW is a computer retailer

I placed an order with CDW and got a username and password for their web site. O.K.

May 21, 2003

I went to inquire into the order status. The confirmation email they sent said to go to www.cdw.com/personalservice. From there I clicked on Order Status. To find your order they require the order number and billing zip code. In my case, it said "Status: All Item(s) shipped". Nothing more. 

I wanted to know exactly where it was and how it was shipped, so I logged in to the CDW web site with my user name and password. After having done so, they have no record of my order. I tried searching for it two ways and came up empty both times. 

May 22, 2003. My order is still not found on the CDW web site. I called CDW and was told the day it shipped, the carrier and when it can be expected. The person I spoke to on the phone was surprised that this information was not available on their web site. 

May 23, 2003. The order arrived just fine. It was during the time period they said (on the phone) that it would arrive. 

May 25, 2003. The order is still not found on the web site. This time however, I navigated the web site differently, starting at the "My Account" link on the home page (previously I started with the Order Status link). After logging in to "My Account" the first page said: 

         To be shown the status of your orders, link your E-Account to your customer number.  

I give up.

FYI:

Someone from CDW ran across this web page and suggested that to fix this problem I should contact my account rep and have them link my e-account that I created to the account CDW has their internal database. April 15, 2005.
